I am doing everything by my self including (cinematography, directing, editing and sound design). Now I have a mobile studio in which I am working in high performance after a lot of research. Right now I am in the Austrian Alps and shoot a Documentary Film about the Hellenic Ski Team that will participate in Olympic Games Sochi 2014. The camera I use is Canon XA10 becouse it is a small camera with high quality picture and perfect sound. And this time I wanted to have Apple Pro Res 422 format from my MTS files.
Searching from web, I googled convert MTS for Apple Final Cut and then from Apple Store we found an app called Pavtube MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac, which is a versatile and professional AVCHD to FCP Converter, tired it and succeeded. This program is the best solution for me to keep the high quality footage from the Canon and work with it in FCP very fast with out rendering all the time.
Actually I am very satisfied with this software! When I am back from the mountain to my hotel the first job that I am doing is to dring a cup of tee and open Pavtube software to convert the MTS fils to Pro Res 422. As I have used the AVCHD Converter for Mac which helps me to transcode Canon XA10 mts to ProRes for editing in FCP X smoothly, I will share the best workflow here.
